Francis,

Well put. I have found that there is a joy and satisfaction to
approaching photography in a very deliberate manner. Using finely
crafted equipment and manually controlling the process has a sense of
satisfaction that I don't get when I run in an auto everything/zoom
world. It doesn't mean that I take any better pictures - possibly
even worse - but I feel good about myself for being able to manage the
process.

There certainly are times when using the best means possible to
capture the image is important, but there are also times when it is
important to feel the process of image making yourself. You gain
confidence and experience in your own abilities and knowledge as it is
applied. Francis has given some very sage advice that we would all do
well to follow.

Thanks,

Bruce
