I live in Richmond, BC, and am a father of 8 children ranging from 9 to 22. At present, I have two children in Elementary (The board advocates Child Centred Education) and 3 at High School.
So far, my experience of North American education has led me to the well justified conclusion, that it is screwed up. Educators have screwed up Canadian society(American too, for that matter) with their naive Socialist Fabian Philosophies. Child Centred Education does not work, and never will. All it does is produce union fodder, and turns kids into informants(often against their families), and does not prepare them for the real world. No wonder they turn to drugs. I don't know where you guys stand on these things, but I don't mean it personally. Before, I would have used a stronger word than screwed, but that's not Christian. I would not be a teacher for anything, the stress levels must be unbelievable.
