Subject: How many bodies? - a sad tale

Well, I can't seem to part with a Pentax.
I started with a new ME that I used for many years.
Then added a new Super Program
and later thought I needed another, back-up Super Program (I love 'em!)
Then reading Shutterbug bought a Yashica GSN rangefinder ($50 w/1.7 lens)
I thought the wife needed an A3000 so she could take some pictures.
And how about a Minolta P&S with 2 lens settings 40mm & 60mm,
(just for the times when you didn't want to lug the Pentax gear or to loan
the kids)
Then a PZ-1, a very different experience that I liked
Then got a AF35 point-n-shoot at a camera show (couldn't be seen with a
Minolta)
Then a Yashica half-frame (Shutterbug reading again!)
In the meantime, I had begun collecting M series lenses,
so I bought a brassy black MX to be a companion for my old chrome ME.
Then I found a Mint Black MX in the box...
And how about that cute Black ME, why didn't I buy one of those to start.
And how about a P5 or two (they still don't match-up to a Super Program).
It has been all down hill from there...
More Super Programs cause I love 'em - honest dear, their for the kids!
People on this list started talking about KM's and KX's and K2's
so I had to get some. The KM was easy, the K2's not difficult, and the KX's
hard.
They all seem to have dents at the top of their pentaprisms
And ME Supers. They are so popular with you folks so let's try some.
Fred sold me a MEF. I remember looking at one before buying the Super
Program.
Then he told me about the elusive Black MEF... and that took another 18
months.
And then there are the LX'es. With so much praise, I had to have one.
Have I lost track of one, or was that the cleaning lady walking off with
one?
My daughter shows some interest in Photography, so an SF1 joined the
household.
Stan sold me a PZ-1p for just that extra boost to 3.5 fps over the PZ-1.
And as appeasement, the wife got a new Yashica T5 Super for her photos.
Then JCO started talking screwmount so I got a Spotmatic at a show.
Just to try some lenses, I picked up another complete kit with a H3.
And to complete the set, I found a good deal on a K so I bought it.
And that's my sad tale of how I became a Pentax collector.

As to what I 'need'? I find myself carrying an LX and the PZ-1p when
looking
to take general pictures. The autofocus is useful, the LX classic... two
different feels and two different ways of working, but easy to keep separate
on those two bodies. And I still love those Super Programs. I can shoot
them in my sleep! But hey, the ME Super is pretty good too with that big
viewfinder and quite shutter. And have you ever tried an H3. It's a 40
year
old mechanical camera and still delivers high quality pictures. Well, I'm
addicted...

Regards, Bob S.
