The cost of admission to Pentax for me has been higher maintenance costs and the need to keep a larger camera body inventory for redundancy purposes than when I used Nikon. The other side of the coin is that Pentax lenses make better pictures (opinion alert), and I have been able to build a larger inventory of them than I would have been able to of Nikkors.
