Hi, Okay i'll pick out my favourite 5 in no partcilar order: If you dont like what i said about your picture then feel free to tell me about it :)
"Life's a Beach " by Paul Stenquist http://pug.komkon.org/02nov/lifbch.html This image works well with the story that goes along with it, the description you give of the couple match's perfectly fits with how you have portrayed the subjects in the portrait. "Yabi* " by Simon King, http://pug.komkon.org/02nov/yabi.html Great Portrait, nice eye contact with the baby and good expression on his face. The mother in the back ground adds another layer to the image with out detracting from the main subject, the baby. "Come Monday " by William Johnson http://pug.komkon.org/02nov/usjbsong.html Great expression and nice skin tones. "The Eye of a Child " by Cotty, http://pug.komkon.org/02nov/stefpent.html Nice timing with him concentrating and his eye wide open. I also like the colours, the skins tones are nice and smooth and his light coloured hair, skin and t-shirt contrast nicely againt the black of the camera. The background is also totally out of focus so as to not destract from the portrait. A nice way to say good bye to some great gear :) "Landfill, Centralia " by G. Fenstermacher, http://pug.komkon.org/02nov/centr.html The colours in this shot are wonderful and black tree's contrast nicely with it. I feel there is a little to much black forground and image would be stronger with some of it cropped out. One extra that i'll make a mention of is: "Lorra Lorries " by Rob Brigham http://pug.komkon.org/02nov/lorrysml.html The trucks lined up in such a uniform manner and there neuteral colours lead to very strong (bold?) picture, it would be great blown up to a really big print. They do also look menacing! I however thing it is a little to tightly cropped vertically, needing a little more at the bottom, maybe some of the road or the wheels of the trucks closest to the photographer. I'd be curious to know when it was so crop something distracting out? Regards, Paul Jones
