Enough of the ebay debate. Let's move on. I enjoyed this month's PUG immensely. I don't think there's a single image on the page that I found unworthy, and there are a number of photos I would like to mention in no particular order
N. Abalanavan's "Butterfly." Okay, I'm a sucker for wildlife and flower photography. But this image is truly special. Fantastic color, superb detail. Note that it was shot with a Sigma macro on the MZ-S. Great work. Gianfranco Irlanda's "Noli Me Tangere." Once again, this truly gifted photographer demonstrates his ability to find and record an extraordinary communication. Shoreline images can be common, but Ann Sanfedele captured a very special one with her "Foggy Morning, Bandon Beach." The muted tones give it a painterly feeling. The composition is fluid and balanced. I love the west coast of the US and the Pacific Ocean. Steve Larson's "The Pier" reminded me of one of my favorite California beaches amd that wonderful late afternoon light that comes pouring across the ocean. A nice balance of exposure here between sky, water and sand. Good work. The stark simplicity of Dick Jones' "Sailboats at Anchor, Morro Bay" is striking and memorable. The near perfect calm of the water, the reflected geometry of the bare masted boats, and the vast emptiness of the landscape combine to form a very dramatic and emotional image. There are many more photos that I should comment on, and I hope to do so before the month is over. A big thank you to all the PUG contributors for providing so much inspired work. Paul Stenquist
