I picked up a Pentax-A* 200 f/2.8 lens yesterday from KEH. It should arrive on Monday or Tuesday. I was pretty happy to get this lens. With comments on Stan Halpin's page like those that follow I thought it would probably be a good investment.
Mike Breen - The 200 f/2.8A is probably as good as any fixed focus 200mm lens made.. . . . It is sharp corner-to-corner wide open yielding contrast I can depend upon. . . Aaron - . . . I adore this lens. I use it primarily in low to very low light . . . Great contrast, . . . What I am asking from my brethren here at the PDML is what do you think this lens is worth. I would rather not broadcast what I paid for it. If I paid too much I may be embarrassed. If I got it for a song I might seem to be bragging. I do not desire either. I just want to find out if I got a decent deal or not. I have not ever seen one of these 200mm green star lenses for sale anywhere before and really have no idea what the general consensus is as to its worth. I know, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. But please tell me what you think as a general guestimate. I would appreciate it. P.S. If you really want to know what I paid for it I would agree to tell you off list if you keep it to yourself. Thanks, Glen O'Neal
