I guess everything is possible but this doesn't ring true in he light of Pentax claim
that they will clean up their slr line-up. There is a new chassis coming and it
certainly isn't far away. pentax have no reason for showing a prototype that's way off
in the future. The film version of this camera was rumored for (this) fall release;
now probably in spring. Pentax UK and my Pentax sources say this cameras sibling is
the DSLR to be shown in the spring.
Furthermore, the price of the DSLR is only about 30% higher than the MZ-S. The MZ-S is
an expensive camera; a platform for an expensive DSLR. It doesn't seem likely to me
that the same platform is suitable for a "cheap" DSLR.
I guess time will tell but so far, Pentax UK statement is the most detailed one and is
the same story as other pentax reps claim. So I'll stick to that until other
definiteve sources tells otherwise.
I wouldn't put any faith in the Taiwanese "leak" as it is obviously someone trying to
get a "inside" slant of whats clearly just a citation of a japanese newspaper article.
