The list basically works this way: Whether you post a new subject or reply to others, you send the mail to the list, which then relay a copy to each and everyone. How often you receive mails depend on list activity, and the form of subscription you chose. In regular mode, mail drop in every now and then. In Digest mode, you one mail every 12 hours containing all posts to the List in that time frame.
