I agree that the FA20-35/f4 would see more use, however the FA24/f2 or the (F)A20/f2.8 would be good and faster alternatives.
At the long end a 200/f2.8 lens would be smaller and would need much less light than a 300-600mm lens, and you could add teleconvertes.
