Bruce Unfortunately this is the mindset of most of the drugstore/ department store/ large camera 1 hr chains. When I worked for Ritz even though they preached quality all their procedures, staffing levels, etc are geared towards pumping the stuff out quick with just enough quality that most customers wouldn't complain. It's only going to get worse as more small quality oriented labs go under.
How do you like the output from the Agfa D-lab? We have an MSC300 Agfa printer (analog) and a Noritsu 2711 (digital) at work. On straight D/P the Agfa's the better machine. Does the lab that has the D-lab do good work? If so, I'd like to send them a neg for an 8x10 and then compare it to what I can get off the 2711. You can contact me off list if you like.
