Actually, I believe this area is where plastic make more sense... BTW My MZ-S is currently at repair due to the fact that the on/off switch was getting stucked at times. The repair man sent me an e-mail with images attatched showing that my camera has been subjected to seawater. Anyway, most impressively was the internal view of this camera. Underneat the metal bottom plate is another bottom plate this time made of steel. All moving parts I could see from the pictures are of metal; the camera seem to have an internal chassis of metal in addition to it's outer magnesium body. Theres no doubt the the MZ-S was designed fundamentally to house a $7000 professional digital slr. It is certaily not high priced considering they way it is built. P�l
