The 50/2 is an excellent and sharp lens. You may, in fact, consider yourself lucky to have been forced to buy one, as it's a great deal for the money. Once you exhaust the possibilities of shooting at f/2 or slower -- which should take some time -- you might consider getting something faster. Or not.
