"My way (zoom/prime) is better than your way (zoom/prime)."

and

"My way (realism/representationalism) is better than your way (realism/representationalism).

It's the same argument, except the second tends to use more syllables.

And choice of equipment a photographer uses is a direct reflection of that photographer's philosophy.
