Yes. What's worse? The FA*200/2.8 I just returned had an ED element (2nd or 3rd, can't be certain by looking from the front) so badly scratched I wouldn't even want to think about it. The whole glass surfaces looked like those micro scratches on automoble bodies. The edge of the element was slightly cloudy too. Pentax said it was ok, but I decided to return it. Afterall, why would I buy new if it's in 2ndhand condition (worse than 2ndhand imo)? Never seen any lens with so many scratches.
I wondered if it was cemented elements coming apart but it looks too far into the lens to be the two- element group.Doesn't sound like separation to me. AFAIK, separation often occures due to age, or impact.
It would be near-impossible for me to get a photo of the marks as I have to look directly into the lens with the sun right behind me.The better way is to use a torch. No, you still can't take any picture of the marks. But your eyes will less likely to suffer. :)
