"Was there a film transport problem with some of the early 6x7s? I've been considering the Koni and Mamiya press cameras as an alternative to a 6x7 because I thought I'd read that the older ones were iffy.
Dan Scott" Dan, I had all three of them some years ago. The P 6X7 is worlds ahead of the Konica and Mamiya options. Mine had no MLU, an early 105mm lens and no meter. You could drive tent stakes with it and still shoot great pics. I had a nice 55mm lens too that cost more than the camera. The weight was a problem and the mirror/shutter motion was suspect. I still miss it when I look at the little 645 negs I get now. Get a good heave tripod and go to town. Luminious-Landscape uses the P 6X7 system a lot and he can have/afford anything.
