Well, it arrived yesterday in the late morning, and I got back my first roll of pictures today. I do love the feel of it. The shutter button is a bit more sensitive than I was expecting, so there are some nonsense images which resulted from my trying to take meter readings. I also found the viewfinder not as easy to use for off- centre focussing as I would like -- say, like that on my LX. (The optics in my face aren't as young as they used to be, and I'm sure that's part of the problem.) I'd handled an MX only once before, when I'd borrowed a much-(ab)used one. That one seemed to have some "sloppiness" to the feel of the controls, and now that I come to think of it, I wasn't happy with the view through the finder of that one either. This is why it's taken me so long to take a serious interest in owning one. THIS one doesn't have any of that sloppiness, so I can only assume the school camera I'd borrowed that time had really had a hard life! The only other little issue I have with mine is that it seems to have lived with a smoker. However, I would think some airing out may clear that up. It's a black body, and KEH listed it in "bargain" condition which, apparently, means smoky smell, minor brassing on a couple of the bottom edges, and new light seals. I second-guessed myself on the purchase all the time from when I completed the order until -- sometime early yesterday afternoon.
