You can use the PDNS OpenDBX backend and FreeTDS to connect to your MS SQL 
server. This setup worked very well for another member of this list.

The servers officially supported by the OpenDBX backend are:
- MySQL
- PostgreSQL
- SQLite 2 and 3
- MS SQL Server

Supported but not extensively tested yet:
- Oracle 8i to 10g
- Sybase ASE
- Firebird 2
