I think jou didn't install the boost-devel package.
There are some ready made RPMs for CentOS available at
ftp://ftp.monshouwer.eu/pub/linux/pdns-server

I'm new to pdns
Try to compile it but no luck
OS CentOS Linux 4.6
installed boost_1_34_1
Try to install pdns-2.9.21
Compiled with
CXXFLAGS=-I/usr/local/include ./configure
or
CXXFLAGS=-I/usr/local/include/boost ./configure
or
CXXFLAGS=-I/usr/local/include/boost_1_34_1 ./configure
Nothing with luck
I get this error :
checking boost/shared_ptr.hpp usability... no
checking boost/shared_ptr.hpp presence... no
checking for boost/shared_ptr.hpp... no
Missing boost - please install Boost packages or see
