Thanks for providing your opinion.
Looks like my mysql-slow.log is sitting idle. There's nothing written to it.
I think I minimized those aforementioned powerdns respawning errors.
The two only things that still disturb me are:

Jun  6 15:23:21 ns1 pdns[893]: TCP nameserver had error, cycling backend:
Timeout reading data

And 

Exception: unknown escape sequence

I deleted "\" characters from four domains like it was suggested here but
still something causes them to show up.

In general, check the mysql slow-queries log. Especially if this happens at
times of high query load.
