Hi all,

I decided to be adventurous and go ahead and install the snapshot.

Thanks Ton!

The auth server runs ok, so no problems there. The only problem I see
has to do with pdns_control.

Hmm, this smells like a bug that had been fixed already. Which exact file
did you download?

As proposed by you, snapshot 1293

I haven't waited to see if it does give up by itself. Killing the
process(es) leaves lots of lsock* files in /tmp.

The previous version didn't exhibit this behaviour so I'm wondering
whether this is due to changes in pdns_control.

Does this happen immediately? Or only over time?

Immediately. I 'upgraded' around 5 pm (CET) and moments later I found the pdns_control
processes hanging on the hidden master. All changes to the zones (either by clients or b ourselves)
are followed by a notify to the authorative servers. I just found over 100 socketfiles in /tmp.

Should I use pdns_control different now that it supports tcp? Or is
there something else going on?

No, everything should be exactly as it was.

I just downgraded the supermaster back to 2.9.21 and pdns_control functions as it should.
It connects to the control-socket send the notify and exits.

When shutting down using the pdns-initscript it hung on 'pdns_control ping', so all usage of the
control socket seems to give me problems.

Is there anything I can test to provide more info on this issue I'm seeing?

Thank you.

Ton
