Therefore, I would suggest you coordinate with pdns managing team for
the required actions to be taken for the inclusion in all current and
future releases.

There are two main obstacles to this, as seen from the PowerDNS chaps and
as are summarized in the README:

- this backend need a full-time maintainer, and I can't commit officially to
this
role. The recent updates may give some hope, and I sure want to spend
more time on this backend, but at the same time I'm unsure of what
my free time will be tomorrow and this is a major block.

- the backend still lacks automated non-regression tests that integrate nicely
in the official PowerDNS source tree. This would be the icing on the cake and
as all icing will come last. First I want to have a full featured backend,
regardless of the status of other ones, and this means slave support, DNSSEC
support, and whatever the PowerDNS authors can come up with (I'm thinking
about the domain metadata stuff that I still have no clear idea how to
integrate
it cleanly in the LDAP tree).

Hence, I am taking the initiative to forward our correspondence to the
pdns users mailing list.

Well, be sure in that case to include this message and point people to the
backend README :)
