Hi Peter,
I have actually fixed the issue now, it was due to the auth value
being set to 0 in MySQL. We'd previously upgraded from 2.9 which
didn't require this column. It worked fine for some records, but not
for others and did seem mostly random.
The error didn't show up in logs, but did show up when running
pdnsutil check-all-zones
