Even though i manage the domains and internally we use native
replication with mysql, on certain domains I need to send notify
messages to external 3rd party to prompt them to AXFR.
Seems i can't do this with PowerDNS ? Either via the authoritative
server settings or using the cli tool.
Put master=yes in your config. Do not put slave=yes in the config on
your MySQL replication slaves. Set the domain type to MASTER. Notifies
will now work, both automatically and via pdns_control. To avoid useless
log spam on your native slaves, configure
only-notify/also-notify/ALSO-NOTIFY accordingly on the master.
