I was going to recommend LUFS, but then I remembered that the ssh
component of LUFS is, well, terrible. I hope the other suggestions
brought up here are more useful, and I suspect that they are. Don't
bother with LUFS if you want to use SSH mounting seriously, but it's
neat to play with.
I think that FUSE is the functional and non-brain damaged heir apparent
for the LUFS crown. AFAIK LUFS is being discontinued. But I could be
wrong.
