It's certainly possible you could have the wrong (or no) driver for
this printer.  That said, if the printer *ever* worked in the past,
I'd doubt very much that's your problem.

If the printer ever worked in the past, I'd check several other things
first, including:

1. Ensure CUPS (your internal print server, in essence) is started by typing:
    $ ps ax | grep cupsd

    If you get more than one line back, it's probably running.  If
not, that's your problem.

2. Ensure the printer cable is securely connected and hasn't jostled loose

3. Ensure the printer isn't displaying any yellow lights (ink/paper needed)

If all that checks out and/or the printer was never set up in the
first place, you're in for a fun and interesting time. :-)    Let us
know if that's the case & we'll probably have some more pointers.
