authenticate method in application helper (to use as before_filter for
any controller, ie:
before_filter :authenticate, :except => [ :login, :new ]
authentication required before member actions (except for login)
logged in user automatically goes to their profile page
logout action for logging out
link on member profile page back to pdx.rb home page
