Sorry, guys -- I was out of town an offline all weekend, so I haven't really made any progress since late last week. I should have some time to work on the feeder tonight, though, so I'll start taking a crack at getting the "only new entries" model to work.
If we're willing to force the use of either RSS 2.0 or Atom as the syndication format, then we should be able to get a unique ID for each entry without resorting to hashing, which would be preferable since the hash could change if a single character in the post content did.
