As the one to blame for that validates_each code, I humbly apologize for what is obviously a bad hack.
No need to be humble, I didn't realize the problem until I actually tried to do it, so it is a mistake I would have made too...
Might I recommend simply wrapping the validation in 'unless self.ended?'
Sounds good, I went ahead and did it. (I couldn't actually call self.ended?, I assume this is because the validation stuff is executed before the rest of the class is loaded? Anyone have a better answer than an ignorant assumption?).
