Hey Folks- I'm sure this doesn't surprise you but I am/was a Java developer. I got a gig to create a screening type application and we are slated to start development soon.
Originally I wanted to do it in Java/Struts but after using RoR for several months now I'm sold and I think it's much better suited for the project. I've talked w/the client several times but they are still leaning towards Java. I put together a presentation (w/S5 Presents, S5 is cool!) http://www.whitelotusdesign.com/mjones/whyruby/ to show them why RoR is better suited. Right now I'm trying one last time to convince them, I've been looking around for some zeitgeist on adoption of RoR, and also the number of available developers. If you have some good links to convincing data could you please send them my way? Or if you have some other good points please feel free to shoot them over as well.
