I don't know about the community, but I'm using it to share models between apps without having to do nasty svn:externals crap. It's working like a champ. > I'm considering implementing a rails-engine as part of a project I'm > working on. Perhaps a poor decision is nobody would use > them... my question: Is the technology here to stay, or just a fad? *shrug* engines are just a way to extract functionality. You can use it now and if it doesn't last just copy the files into your app and move on. All it does behind the scenes is add itself to the Rails load paths. It's not doing any voodoo :) Ben _______________________________________________ PDXRuby mailing list [email protected] IRC: #pdx.rb on irc.freenode.net http://lists.pdxruby.org/mailman/listinfo/pdxruby
