Well the subject says Monday, while the body of the email says Tuesday.
Guess I should read a little more closely before firing off sardonic replies.
Raffle? With proceeds to go towards FOSCON?
Well, the original idea was just to have some sort of contests where we would give out prizes. That's what led me to requesting donations from the publishers. Then Ben suggested the idea of a raffle to help cover the costs of pizza and such.
Personally, I think it would be great if we could still do the contests. But we're pretty well behind on all of our planning and I think something like that would take a bit of work between now and FOSCON. If anyone really wants to do it, I think we could probably pull it off, but it shouldn't be done as an afterthought.
Maybe we should give books to FOSCON speakers as their 'reward'.
Perhaps. Although, really, I told the publishers that we'd be using them for some sort of contest. I'm fine with giving them to presenters but really we were originally thinking of it as a way to draw people in and possibly give them something for coming to the event.
Hopefully some of us will be at OSCAMP - I'm planning to take a few
days off to attend.
I agree, but my point is that we had originally talked about some organized activities. Are we still thinking about that?
