Seriously, maybe it could be a dynamic languages group (though strictly speaking, I'm not sure Haskell is a dynamic language).
This does present a depth vs. breadth contention. Personally, I'd like to participate in a study group picking a handful of languages to put in a circular queue. Possibly choosing a *discussion leader* at meeting's end to focus on a curious feature of the next language at the next meeting. Maybe even switching out one language in the queue every six months or implementing said feature using the other languages. I guess what I'm saying is that I get a kick out of learning something wild in a language and suddenly realizing it changes the way I think about other languages. Apologies if I'm diverting this thread from Smalltalk, but the excitement of learning new language is a bit too much for me to contain. :) Darrin _______________________________________________ PDXRuby mailing list [email protected] IRC: #pdx.rb on irc.freenode.net http://lists.pdxruby.org/mailman/listinfo/pdxruby
