Speaking as one of the pdxruby mailing list moderators, I wanted to let you guys know about some issues we've been having with the volume of spam hitting the moderation queue. There are usually *at least* a few dozen obvious spam hitting the queue in a single day, which makes it pretty difficult to stay on top of rejecting all of it fast enough to keep legitimate messages from being buried for days or even weeks at a time.
In the interest of bringing things back under control, and preventing out-of-order posting due to moderator overload, I've added fairly draconian spam-handling rules to the list filters: anything with a Spam Asssassin score over 7 will get silently dropped from the queue. Please let me know (either directly, or through the [EMAIL PROTECTED] alias) if you notice any messages of your own "vanishing", and I can ratchet the controls back down a bit, but in the meantime, I'm hoping this will spare my poor Inbox from the torrent of obvious spam flooding the list. I know return you to your regularly-scheduled scheduling thread. -Lennon P.S.: I will, unfortunately, probably not be able to make it tonight, but I hope you guys have a great time. _______________________________________________ PDXRuby mailing list [email protected] IRC: #pdx.rb on irc.freenode.net http://lists.pdxruby.org/mailman/listinfo/pdxruby
