Katerina,

The color stroop times are in ms, 1000ms = 1s.

Those values in the normal stroop report are in log(rt-in-ms). You can
transform log(rt) to rt by using e^x, the =exp() function in excel, for
example. So exp(6.353) = 574 ms, or about 1/2 of a second.

You are really better off computing your own statistics from the
trial-by-trial data found in the other files, rather than using the rather
crude summary statistics reported there. You can use whatever averaging
function you want then, and remove outliers at will.

Best,
Shane

Dear Shane, dear all,

I would need a helping hand regarding the Stroop test data output. In
particular, I am having problem interpreting the "response time" variable.

I am using two standard tasks contained in the latest PEBL package -
"stroop" and "color-stroop".

Below are copied testing data outputs for these two tasks:

["stroop"]:

==================================
Detailed Mean Information (RT is in log-units)
==================================
Response Times:
Cond num med mean sd
------------------------------------
1 100 6.353 6.361 0.158
-----------------------------------

["color-stroop"]:

   [C]ongruent, [I]ncongruent, [N]eutral
         Response time
   Cond Mean N
--------------------------------
     C 1000.62 48
     I 1225.62 48
     N 1091.96 48

The problem is that the outputs are in different time units so I cannot
compare them.

1) The output from "stroop" is in LOG-UNITS. How do I transform this
data so that they would be in SECONDS?

2) The output from "color-stroop" is looking seconds-like - what exactly
are the units in? (Milliseconds?)

Thank you very much for your help in advance!

Kind Regards
Katerina Farska
