http://pebl.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Object_Judgment Note that there are two related tasks, one that asks for absolute judgments (which shape is identical to the target), and another that asks for shape judgments invariant to size and rotation (which option has the identical shape, regardless of size and orientation). The task also illustrates the frequently unrecognized problem with most Shepard-style mental rotation tasks, because they typically don't show an RT effect by rotation angle. This effect is generally only observed with mirror-image foils, which is peculiar to the shepard-style task. Also, this task was originally described in: Mueller, S. T. (2010). A partial implementation of the BICA Cognitive Decathlon using the Psychology Experiment Building Language (PEBL). International Journal of Machine Consciousness, 2, 273288. and it uses an attneave algorithm based on the one published here: Collin, C. A., & Mcmullen, P. A. (2002).
