Hi all,

If they are not API compatible then replacing one with the other should be
discounted as a way forward in my opinion although I am using neither
extension. They are separate projects and should remain so. That only
leaves the decision as to whether the current fuse extension should be
deprecated in favour of the potential new extension from Marco.

I wrote the fuse bindings for an application I no longer maintain (old job). A few people have asked me about write support, but I never found the time to implement it. If Marco has the time and interest then I'd say go for it.

I looked at the examples in Marco's project and the API differences are fairly superficial. Maintainers of downstream applications should have no trouble adapting to the new API. But I would support either deprecating my extension or replacing the codebase with Marco's.
