Awesome, I'd really like to see this extension being kept maintained!

Do you have any specific questions?

A general rule of thumb: it's always good to push at least one RC before
a stable release, so that any issues from external packagers, like Remi,
or the windows builds can be caught (these are the easy fixes and it's
always worth it IMO).

The test matrix has become huge in the meantime, but just ensure you did
run the tests also in debug, ZTS and valgrind mode.
