The commit above is derived from some work I've made to make the
conrtib/uuid-ossp postgres extension work with e2fs / BSD uuid
implementations. But I guess it could be used to add BSD (+ OSSP?)
support to pecl/uuid.
I would give it a try myself, but there's currently too much on my plate
ATM.
