The latest stable PHP source is showing 2.0.9 for oci8, yet pecl
is showing 2.0.8.

What is the deal? Is PECL not being maintained? If so, what is the
new standard?
I posted previously about version inconsistencies with xdebug and
received no follow up there either.

I think 2.0.9 is a PHP 7 only update.

- OCI8 is maintained, as you can verify from commits to master.
- 2.0.9 currently contains only one minor change over 2.0.8 (see package.xml)
"Fixed oci_field_* reflection: $field can be a column name or index"
- For PHP 7, we have bumped the version to 2.1.0. There are just a
couple of mem leaks to be fixed before all tests pass in our base
environment.
