Hi, First of all, I would like to say thank you to the original authors and maintainers of Memcache extension!
However, since the original extension seems to be undeveloped, we have created a new version of the extension for PHP 7.x. It is basically a fork of original extension from https://pecl.php.net/package/memcache, ported & with multiple bug fixes & maintained for PHP 7.x. Our version can be found on github - https://github.com/websupport-sk/pecl-memcache. Since, the original PHP extension on PECL seems rather unmaintained, I would like to ask you to consider making our extension the official release and making me the maintainer. Currently, our version is wildly used by many linux distributions (Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu etc.). Thank you! Tomas
