Hi Kathy, I had the exact same problem about the same time you did, trying to use a Brother HL 1440 printer with Windows XP. I downloaded new drivers from the Brother web-site, and re-started Protel, and re-booted my computer, but the problem remained. I finally switched from the parallel port cable (LPT1) to the USB cable, and removed the HL 1440 printer. I re-booted and let windows install the new printer it found. Now the schematics print correctly. I suspect the problem had to do with the ECP printer port, and perhaps I could have fixed it by replacing LPT1 with a standard port, but I am not sure. On an older computer running Windows 98 this was accomplished in BIOS, but I am not sure how to do it in XP. Please let me know if you fix the problem.
