Also, I have found quite a few .lib files that match the QFP44 criteria but all of them differ in some way or the other. That is why I am specifically looking for a 44pin TQFP package for PIC18f452.

When you become used to protel, a 44 pin part can be made in under 10 minutes, and the PCB lans set up from the wizard in under 5 minutes (would be quicker if protel matched the input paramaters to what manufacturers provide)
