It is a peculiarity of Gerber editors that they don't open Gerber files - they open their own version of CAM files.

You have to IMPORT Gerber files. Go to File>Import>Gerber (or drill, or aperture), and select your files. Your files will open just fine.

Note that, depending on the editor/viewer, you may have to choose "all files" to display the files with Protel Gerber extensions. Some editors/viewers expect all Gerber files to have the extension ".gbr" or ".pho". The Protel extensions give you more info about the file, and they don't prevent you from importing them - you just have to train the Gerber editor/viewer.

Hello all:

I have the following trouble:

In protel 2004, after creating a PCB board with 2 layers and some drills and vias, I create the output manufacturing files (gerber and nc drill) but none of this files can be opened in a gerber viewer software.

Can somebody solve this problem?
