Built a generic beige box for DXP recently.
DFI LAN Party mobo with a 3.2Ghz Athlon64 & 2GB ram
2 x generic Geforce 6200 PCIex cards
The lan party mobo was a real mongrel to set up & get tweaked as it has every
adjustment known to mankind but no instructions on how to do it. The Nvidia
tweaking software was as buggy as all get out, had to reflash the bios with a
later version before it would even boot.
The 6200 cards have a DVI port each and both an analog VGA o/p & a composite
video o/P. The lan party mobo has two slots for pciex video cards but is not
SLI. The cards run 2x19" Dell LCD's at 12x10 on DVI & 1x19" Dell LCD via VGA.
Call me old & blind but I can't tell the difference between the three. One of
the cards also drives an external video input on a TV.
All in all it works very reliably & is great to use, work comes in, invoices &
product go out. Bit tricky to set up originally but very inexpensive overall
sans labour. According to the benchmaking software it is rather brisk.
