This is interesting, Brad. Probably they are using parts with "their own opinion" and this bug is hard to fix. It looks like AD and PCAD are spoiling us.
I had a PADS PCB design last week and I was supposed to re-use some of the parts created there. I first tried PADS->AD importer and it was scary to look at the design. They got tear-drops on all traces and some looked almost shorted. Then I opened the same PCB file with PCAD and the picture was quite different. No tear-drops at all and the board didn't look as they haven't run DRC at all. To be able to open the file in its own database program and view it is helpful. The PADS file didn't have any problems and PCAD version of it looked much closer to the original. I guess I didn't set AD correctly but I assumed it would read what it sees without modifying the file. I was stacked between the existing date and the delivery date so, I couldn't afford the time to play with this more but will give it another try when I get a chance.
