The PADS translators works very very well. Mentor is taking the luring of
customer away from competitive products very seriously, and showing it.
The translator will take a ddb, extract the pcb file and concert it sans
much riggermarole. I have it and believe me it works.
PADS does not import gerbers, unless the new unreleased version can do that.

this is sort of the reverse of the usual question
i have potential job to develop a widget
it will go through several spins, proto, pilot run, iterations w/ molded
packaging, and then when done and stable there will be a hand off to the
final customer for offshore production
at that stage they want the design in PADs for maintenance and revs,
they don't care about the preliminary stages
so the questions is:
is there a reasonable shot a converting from 99SE to the current PADs
program?
will there be a lot of clean up ?
a day or so is probably reasonable
don't really want to go to RSI unless abs. nec.
