So far AD6 appears to be well beyond 99SE SP5 was when it was released, that
is,
it is looking like a reasonably mature product. Big, nebulous, bugs here &
there ( like anything else these days unfortunately ;-) but overall quite a
pleasure to use. So far... The transition is being assisted by what is going
to
become a very comprehensive set of finely targeted videos.

There has been a large amount of tuning by users/beta testers over the last
year
and many of our requests made it into the release, some didn't and are still
being promised or discussed. The last year has in my opinion has been the best
ever for interaction between the development teams and the users, the result
shows it.

With the incremental online service pack feature it is expected that there will
be a continuous process of fine tuning via small patches as there is a very
active ongoing dialogue between the developers and the testers. Having said
this
I am also aware of the shivers every time I allow Xp to install patches,
ultimately the choice is still yours to allow AD6 to install the patch or not.

After using their product since the late eighties this one is probably the max
for the "gee that's cool" factor ;-)

Hopefully, in the spirit Dennis' of statement, this translates into a smooth
path between customer spec and food on the table. As with many others on the
list I find that the usability issue is critical as PCB design is one aspect of
a product. We don't get to spend all day with the one program, there is also
the
firmware development system(s), the Mech CAD system, accounts etc etc. As a
consequence it is important to have access to user friendly interfaces to
minimise the dog-eared manual syndrome.

Have a good one

Don
