Lucky you. I used to work that way (creating my own libraries) but for the last couple of years I'vw been unfortunate to have a librarian ahead of me in the management chain. The unfortunate part isn't however, that there's a librarian, it's more that he doesn't know very much about the part he specifies and maintains, let alone how to use them.
