Though I am not 100% sure, one reason that these two parts use the same model (though I can't corroborate right now) is that many semiconductor companies sell the same intellectual property. One creates it, then the other(s) license(s) it. Once someone optimizes a topology, it's often times more expeditious and cost-effective for another company to simply buy the right to use the design...
On the other hand, the two designs may simply have enough similarity and/or be used in such a way that any discrepancies between the two are meaningless.
